CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Teja Singh '25 poured in a career-high 23 points and the Continentals posted a 72-62 NESCAC win over the Connecticut College Camels at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
- Singh put the Continentals in the lead for good with a 3-pointer on a pass from Conner Rood '23. Hamilton started the second half with a 16-2 run that turned a 32-26 halftime deficit into a 42-34 lead with 15:51 remaining.
- Singh hit another shot from 3-point land that stretched Hamilton's lead to nine points at 47-38 with 12:13 left.
- Eric Anderson '23 gave the Continentals a 10-point cushion at 51-41 after a perfect trip to the line with 9:48 to go.
- The Camels went on a quick 8-0 spurt and cut their deficit to two points with 8:32 left.
- Hamilton countered with a 6-1 rally for a 57-50 advantage with 6:01 to go. Singh had four points and Anderson made two more free throws.
- Conn. College came within four points on two separate occasions in the next three minutes, but Hamilton held them off by going 7-for-8 at the line in the final 2:26. Anderson scored five of the Continentals' last 11 points.
- Hamilton was 14 of 28 from the floor and 13-for-14 at the free-throw line in the second half.
- Liam Regan '23 opened the scoring with a 3-pointer and Patrick Mogan '23 made a layup for an early 5-2 lead.
- Conn. College hit two 3-pointers for a 10-7 edge with 14:12 remaining.
- The Camels, who led the rest of the half, extended their run to seven straight points for a 14-7 advantage.
- Anderson nailed a 3-point shot and Owen Kane '25 added a layup that slashed the Camels' lead to three points at 21-18 with 4:38 left.
- Conn. College had an 8-0 burst during the next 77 seconds for a 28-18 lead.
- The Camels extended their lead to a game-high 12 points at 32-20 with 57 seconds to go.
- Hank Morgan '25 and Singh netted 3-pointers on consecutive possessions in the final minute and started a 22-2 run that spanned both halves.
- Conn. shot 33.3 percent (20-60) from the floor, including 5 of 17 from the 3-point line, and made 77.3 percent (17-22) at the stripe.
- Hamilton owned a 39-36 edge on the glass and a 14-7 advantage in second-chance points.
Notes
- Hamilton (15-7, 6-2 NESCAC) won its fifth straight contest. This is the longest win streak since seven games at the start of the 2019-2020 season.
- Conn. College moved to 13-9 overall and 4-4 in the NESCAC.
- Singh shot 5 of 10 from 3-point land.
- Anderson went 7-for-7 at the line and contributed 16 points off the bench.
- Regan netted 10 points on 3 of 4 shooting from the 3-point line. He has scored in double figures in four straight conference games.
- Rood collected nine points and a team-best 11 rebounds. He also dished out a team-high seven assists.
- Elisa Espinosa paced the Camels with 16 points on the strength of three 3-pointers.
- Andrew Hartel added 15 points in 20 minutes off the bench.
- David Murray registered 13 points and nine rebounds.
