Harris ’27 nets 22 as women’s basketball extends win streak to seven

First-year registered her third double-double this season for the Continentals

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Hamilton College's Kendall Harris '27 poured in 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Continentals cruised to a 73-50 win against the University of Maine at Fort Kent Bengals in the 2023 Ed Hockenbury Classic at Norwich University on Friday, Dec. 1. 
 
Season Update
  • Hamilton is 7-0 for the first time since 2018-19.
  • Maine-Fort Kent (5-1 overall) dropped its first contest this season.  
How It Happened
  • Hamilton jumped out to an 8-0 lead and led the rest of the way. 
  • The Bengals scored the next five points, but the Continentals went on a 10-0 run for an 18-5 cushion with 3:37 left in the opening quarter. 
  • Maria Mercado Rengel '24 drained a 3-pointer for a 12-point lead at 24-12 heading into the second quarter. 
  • Tessa Cole '25 put the Continentals up by 15 points at 32-17 on a 3-ball with 6:24 remaining.
  • Emily Hall '24 made a pair of shots at the line in the final second for a 41-24 advantage at the break.
  • Hamilton ran off 14 in a row for its largest lead of 28 points at 58-30 with 2:38 to go in the third quarter. 
  • The Bengals outscored the Continentals 14-13 in the final quarter, but the Continentals held on to their double-digit lead to the finish. 
  • The Continentals shot 43.5 percent (27-62) from the floor, including 9-of-27 from beyond the arc. 
  • Hamilton owned a 55-42 edge on the glass. 
  • The Continentals tallied 20 bench points to the Bengals' eight. 
  • The Bengals shot just 25.7 percent (18-70) from the field, including 4 of 15 from the 3-point line, and they went 10-for-20 at the charity stripe. 
Notes
  • Harris tied a season high with four assists and added two blocks.  
  • Taylor Lambo '26 tallied her third double-double of the season with 15 points and a team-best 14 rebounds. 
  • Althea Hill '26 was 3 of 6 from beyond the arc and registered 10 points. 
  • Cole and Mercado Rengel pitched in six points apiece.
  • Courtney Shay '24 tied a career high with five assists.
  • Skye Dugan led Fort Kent with 25 points. 
  • Hannah Jones chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bengals.

Hamilton will face NAIA member Fisher College (0-10) in the Ed Hockenbury Classic on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m.
