Men’s basketball tripped up at Drew, Morgan ’25 scores 21

Junior has scored in double digits in first four games for the Continentals

MADISON, N.J. – Drew University's James Anderson scored 17 points off the bench and the Rangers posted a 77-65 win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Drew's Baldwin Gymnasium on Tuesday, Nov. 21. 
 
Season Update
  • Hamilton (2-2 overall) received votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 preseason poll. 
  • Drew, which is a member of the Landmark Conference, remained undefeated at 5-0.   
How It Happened
  • Trailing 41-36, the Rangers went on a 16-3 rally and took a 52-44 lead with 12:04 left in the second half. 
  • Garret Keyhani '26 drained a 3-pointer and slashed Hamilton's deficit to three points at 60-57 with 5:04 remaining. 
  • Drew countered with a 7-0 run for a 10-point cushion with 2:40 to go.   
  • The Rangers secured the win by going 7-for-8 at the free-throw line in the final two minutes. Drew led by as many as 14 points with 29 ticks left. 
  • Tied 6-6 early in the first half, Graham Robinson '25 and Christian McDaniel '24 hit back-to-back 3-pointers for a 12-6 lead for the Continentals. 
  • Hank Morgan '25 grabbed a defensive rebound and made a layup that put the Continentals up 21-14 with 8:42 left in the opening half. 
  • Morgan forced a Drew turnover and went to the basket for a 30-22 advantage, but the Rangers quickly responded with a pair of 3-pointers for a two-point game. 
  • After six offensive boards in one possession, Owen Kane '25 converted a layup for a 34-31 lead at the break. 
  • Hamilton shot 41.8 percent (28-67) from the field and was just 3-for-6 at the line. 
  • The Rangers tallied 31 bench points to the Continentals' 15. 
  • Drew registered 28 points off 21 Hamilton turnovers. 
  • The Rangers shot 36.4 percent (24-66) from the floor and 80 percent (20-25) at the line. 
Notes
  • Morgan scored a game-high 21 points and added nine rebounds, four blocks and two steals. 
  • Kane recorded 11 points, seven boards and a career-best five assists. 
  • Keyhani contributed 10 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. 
  • Peso Crump tallied 15 points for the Rangers. 
  • David Musial registered a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. 
  • Andrew Turco had 10 points and seven rebounds.
  • Papie Roberts also scored 10 points and added three assists. 
Next Game
Hamilton faces SUNY Cortland (1-2) in another non-conference road game on Monday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m.
