Harris ’27 leads women’s hoops to non-conference win over Oneonta

First-year tallied 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals for the Continentals

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Kendall Harris '27 poured in a season-best 19 points and the Continentals defeated the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons 57-48 in the Oneonta & Hartwick Classic at Oneonta's Dewar Arena on Friday, Nov. 17. 
 
Season Update
  • Hamilton (3-0 overall) has won its first three games by an average of 15.6 points. 
  • Oneonta, which is a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference, moved to 1-2.  
How It Happened
  • Knotted at 30-30 midway through the third quarter, the Continentals went on an 8-0 run and led the rest of the way. Taylor Lambo '26 started the run with a free throw, Piper Seamon '24 nailed a 3-pointer, Emily Hall '24 added a free throw, and Seamon drilled another trifecta for the eight-point advantage with 2:25 left in the third.
  • The Red Dragons countered with a 7-2 run and closed out the third quarter trailing by just three at 40-37. 
  • Oneonta pulled within a basket after Emma Schwarzbeck hit a 3-pointer with 8:06 to go in the fourth quarter. 
  • Tessa Cole '25 and Harris responded with back-to-back 3-pointers and pushed the lead back up to eight at 48-40. 
  • Hamilton stretched its lead to a game-high 11 points at 57-46 on a layup by Abbey Schwoebel '27 with 1:08 remaining. 
  • Harris scored Hamilton's first six points and Hall added a layup for an 8-3 lead with 4:44 left in the first quarter.
  • The Red Dragons ended the quarter on a 5-1 run and slashed their deficit to one point at 11-10. 
  • Trailing 17-13, Courtney Shay '24 buried a 3-ball and Harris hit a fastbreak layup for an 18-17 advantage. 
  • The Continentals clung to a 23-21 lead after Oneonta converted on two shots at the line with 3:28 left in the second quarter. 
  • With 41 ticks left in the first half, Harris nailed a shot from 3-point land for a 26-21 lead at the break. 
  • Oneonta owned a 43-35 rebounding advantage. 
  • The Continentals shot 40.4 percent (21-52) from the floor and the Red Dragons shot just 23.2 percent (16-69).

  • Harris went 8 of 12 from the floor including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc and added six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
  • Lambo tallied 10 points and six rebounds. 
  • Hall chipped in nine points and a team-best seven boards. 
  • Seamon added eight points off the bench. 
  • Molly Stephens led Oneonta with 15 points. 
  • Schwarzbeck recorded 10 points and seven rebounds for the Red Dragons. 
  • Jenna Harclerode and Megan Desrats grabbed a team-best eight rebounds apiece for Oneonta.
