WATERVILLE, Maine – Hamilton College's
Aedan Burke '26 netted a goal and the Continentals posted a 1-0 NESCAC win over the Colby College Mules at Colby's Serdjenian Field on Sunday afternoon.
Season Update
- Hamilton (6-4-2, 3-4-1 NESCAC) tallied its third straight win.
- Colby moved to 4-4-2 overall and 1-4-2 in the conference.
How It Happened
- The Continentals racked up 10 of their 15 shots in the first half.
- After a scoreless opening half, the Continentals went to work early in the second with a pair of shots and a corner kick in the first 10 minutes. Hamilton broke the ice in the 57th minute after the Continentals applied pressure at midfield. Luke Peplowski '25 navigated two defenders and sent a centering pass to Luke Ehrenfreund '25 who chipped it over to Burke. The sophomore received the pass, cut to the right and fired a hard shot past the hands of Colby's Brendan McCarthy.
- The Mules' Eduardo Casanova nearly notched the equalizer in the 88th minute but Kai Haesslein '24 made the crucial stop.
- Hamilton outshot Colby 15-7 and held an 8-4 advantage on corner kicks.
Notes
- Burke collected his third goal of the season.
- Ehrenfreund dished out his fourth assist of the season and leads Hamilton with 14 points.
- Haesslein made two stops and registered his fifth shutout. He combined with Finn Wheeler '27 on a sixth clean sheet in a win at Utica University.
- McCarthy tallied three saves for the Mules.
- Hamilton has one loss against Colby in the last 12 meetings between the teams.

The Continentals host Bowdoin College (7-1-3, 3-1-2) on Love Field Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. The team will honor their eight seniors during a ceremony before the start of the match.
