How It Happened
- The Continentals took an early lead on a penalty corner. Colby goalkeeper Emily Loeb stopped a blast and kicked the ball away. Maeve Eskandari '24 collected it about five yards from the cage and wristed a shot that snuck inside the right post just 2:54 into the first quarter.
- Alden Duserick '27 made it 2-0 later in the first. Duserick carried the ball into the arc on the right side but her centering pass was intercepted. She immediately forced a turnover only a few feet from the cage and flicked a backhand shot that squeezed between Loeb and the right post with 5:59 left in the quarter.
- Hamilton went up by three goals 41 seconds into the second quarter. Sammy Higgins '26 stole the ball in the Mules' defensive end and moved inside the arc. Higgins' shot hit and hopped over a defender's stick and popped over to Delaney Grace '25, who turned and smacked it into the cage from about 10 feet away.
- The score remained 3-0 until midway through the fourth quarter. Loeb stopped a hard shot by Alana King '24 and Lilly Truchon '26 gained control of the loose ball near the left post. Truchon neatly flipped a backhand shot between Loeb and the post from less than 10 feet away with 9:25 remaining.
- Colby scored its two goals in the final four minutes. Lillian Kistner notched the first one following a penalty corner with 3:54 to go. Casey Winslow beat the final horn as her long shot sailed over the goal line with one-tenth of a second left.
