LEWISTON, Maine – Bates College's Brooke Moloney-Kolen scored two goals and the Bobcats defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 5-0 at Bates' Campus Avenue Field on Saturday, Oct. 7.
Season Update
- Nationally ranked No. 20 Hamilton (6-4, 2-4 NESCAC) had its win streak snapped at three games.
- The 10th-ranked Bobcats (6-3, 3-2) won their third game in a row.
How It Happened
- Bates put the Continentals in a deep hole early by scoring three goals in the first quarter. Molly Harmon put the Bobcats on the scoreboard just 87 seconds after the opening whistle. Ella Blum made it 2-0 with 6:10 left in the first, and Moloney-Kolen notched her first of the day with 3:08 remaining.
- The score remained 3-0 until Moloney-Kolen found the back of the cage again on a pass from Paige Cote with 5:44 to go in the third quarter.
- Anna Cote completed the scoring with 2:01 left in the fourth quarter.
Notes
- Bates held a 21-4 shot advantage and was awarded 10 penalty corners to Hamilton's three.
- Grace Cooper '24 and Maeve Eskandari '24 were credited with defensive saves for the Continentals. They lead the team this season with two apiece.
- Abby Griffin '26 started in the cage and made one save in the first quarter. Reilly Loughman '27 stopped two shots in 45 minutes.
- Kaili Jacobsen turned away two shots for the Bobcats.
