Haesslein ’24 recorded his third shutout this season for the Continentals

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Luke Peplowski '25 scored a pair of goals and the Continentals blanked the Ithaca College Bombers 2-0 in a non-conference match at Hamilton's Love Field on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Season Update
  • Hamilton improved to 4-4-2 overall and has won three of its last four matches.
  • Ithaca, which is a member of the Liberty League, moved to 4-3-2 on the season.
How It Happened
  • Less than nine minutes into the match, Peplowski converted from the penalty spot after an Ithaca handball in the 18-yard box.
  • The Bombers posted two shots on goal in the first three minutes of the second half but Kai Haesslein '24 rejected both.
  • Charles Hawthorn '25 had a nice look in the 65th minute but it slid just wide right of the net.
  • Hamilton added an insurance goal with 2:23 left. Luke Ehrenfreund '25 worked the ball up the field, took on two defenders and forced a Hamilton throw-in. The junior sent a long ball down the line to Patrick Ferrare '27 who passed it back to Ehrenfruend, and he booted it over the heads of Peplowski and two Ithaca defenders. Peplowski showcased his speed as he beat them both to the ball and his shot glanced off the far post into the net.
  • The Continentals outshot the Bombers 16-10 with seven on target.
  • Hamilton held a 6-3 edge on corner kicks.
