CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Maddie Ledbury '26 and Leah Basel '24 scored and the Continentals blanked the Union College Garnet Chargers 2-0 in a non-conference match at Hamilton's Love Field on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
Season Update
• Hamilton improved to 7-3-3 overall. The Continentals received votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 poll.
• Union, which is a member of the Liberty League, moved to 6-6-2 on the season.
How It Happened
• Hamilton scored in the 25th minute on a goal by Ledbury. The Continentals fought for possession on a Union throw-in and Taryn Gillis '26 sent a long pass downfield to Olivia Zubarik '25 in the top-left side of the box. Zubarik thread the needle on a centering pass to Ledbury who fired a shot to the lower-left corner.
• The Continentals nearly doubled their lead on back-to-back shots by Daisy Sullivan '26 and CC Cawood '24 within the last four minutes of the first half but Union's Maya Kostermade the saves.
• Basel extended Hamilton's lead on a rebound goal with 38:17 remaining in the second half. The Continentals earned a free kick after a Union handball and Sullivan delivered a beautiful cross to the center of the box. Jess Yee '26 gained control and attempted a shot that made Kosterdive for the tap-out save. Basel sprinted in for the rebound and blasted a high shot into the net.
• Hamilton outshot Union 27-8 with a season-high 13 on target.
• The Continentals carried a 5-4 edge on corner kicks.

• Hamilton has defeated Union in three consecutive matches and is 6-2 in the last eight meetings.
• Nieve Tonna '26 recorded her fourth clean sheet of the season with four saves.
• Ledbury registered her 10th career goal. She is second on the team in points with seven.
• Basel scored her first career goal in her last home match.
• Zubarik is second on the team with three assists.
• Yee dished out her first assist of the season and the second of her career.
• Sam Friedman led Union with two shots on net.
• Koster made 11 saves for the Garnet Chargers.
