How It Happened
- After three ties and a lead change early in the first set, Colby ran off seven straight points and turned a 13-12 deficit into a commanding 19-13 lead. The Mules led comfortably the rest of the set.
- In the second set the Continentals tallied the first four points and this time they hung on to their advantage. A kill by Elodie McGeiver '27 closed out the set.
- The third and fourth sets were tense, back-and-forth affairs. There were nine ties and five lead changes in the third alone. Trailing 24-22, Hamilton staved off two set points on a Caitlin Allen '27 kill and a Colby attack error. The Mules recovered and clinched the set thanks to a kill by Sarah Friedrichs and an attack error by the Continentals. Colby posted a .389 hitting percentage (17-3-36) for the set.
- A kill by McClintic forced the seventh tie in the fourth set at 21-21, but Colby took the lead for good with a solo block by Hannah Wyllie and a Friedrichs kill. Hamilton fought off one match point, but Moseley finished things off with a kill on a pass from Gabby Grujic.
