Men’s basketball bested by No. 3 Williams, Singh ’25 scores 22

Four Continentals score in double figures

Clinton, N.Y. – Williams College's Spencer Spivy netted 18 points and the Ephs posted a 77-66 NESCAC win over the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday afternoon. 
 
How It Happened
  • Williams' offense started off hot with a 10-2 run. 
  • The Ephs built their largest lead of 19 points at 34-15 with 2:17 remaining.  
  • Eric Anderson '23 scored Hamilton's next four points, Hank Morgan '25 drained a 3-pointer and Anderson hit a last-second jumper from the corner that cut the Continentals' deficit to 12 points at 36-24 at the break.
  • Hamilton slashed Williams' lead to single digits after baskets by Anderson and Teja Singh '25 made it 43-35 with 14:01 left. 
  • Owen Kane '25 hit a 3-ball and pulled the Continentals within five points at 43-38 with 13:29 remaining.
  • The Ephs answered with a 9-0 spurt for a 14-point lead at 52-38 with 10:48 left. 
  • Hamilton responded with a 10-2 run capped by a Singh jumper from the wing, and the Continentals were back within six at 54-48 with 7:15 left. 
  • The Continentals were unable to get any closer than six points down the stretch – the last time was 60-54 with 4:46 to go -- and the Ephs closed out the final minute by going 9-for-10 at the line. 
  • Hamilton shot 39.7 percent (27-68) from the floor and went 7-for-10 at the charity stripe.
  • The Ephs shot 50.9 percent (27-53) from the floor and 77.8 percent (21-27) at the line. 
  • Williams claimed a slight 36-35 advantage on the glass and scored 48 points in the paint. 
Notes
  • Hamilton moved to 9-6 overall and 1-1 in the NESCAC.
  • Williams (13-1, 1-1) is ranked third in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll. 
  • Singh tied a career high with 22 points (also scored 22 on Friday against Middlebury) and had a team-best six assists. He is fifth in the NESCAC with 3.6 assists per game. 
  • Morgan tallied 15 points and Conner Rood '23 added 12. 
  • Anderson was one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. 
  • Patrick Mogan '23 blocked two shots. 
  • The Ephs' Nate Karren contributed 14 points and five assists. 
  • Hudson Hansen added 13 points and five assists off the bench. 
  • Declan Porter registered 11 points. Porter leads the conference in 3-pointers but was held to one by the Continentals.
  • Alex Lee chipped in nine points and Brandon Arnold collected a team-best six rebounds.
