CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Mac Donovan '26 made 29 saves in the Continentals' 3-0 NESCAC win against the Wesleyan University Cardinals at Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Saturday afternoon.
Season Update
The nationally ranked No. 7 Continentals (14-3-1, 8-2-0 NESCAC) outscored Wesleyan 10-1 in two wins this weekend. The Cardinals (9-8-1, 3-7-0) received votes in this week's USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll.
How It Happened
- After a scoreless first period, Abby Smith '24 broke the ice 11:08 into the second. A shot by Hyla Mosher '23 was stopped by Rei Halloran but Smith was there to stuff in the rebound.
- Hamilton held a 15-11 shot advantage during a busy middle period.
- It remained a one-goal difference until Abby Kuhns '23 scored on the power play on a shot from the right point with 5:52 left in the third period.
- A Wesleyan player was sent to the penalty box for cross-checking with 3:41 remaining and it took the Continentals just 18 seconds to capitalize. Maura Holden '23 scored Hamilton's third goal on a shot from the right faceoff circle.
- The Cardinals pulled Halloran for an extra skater with more than a minute left but couldn't put any shots on net.

- Donovan posted her first shutout in her fourth start for the Continentals. She has a 0.75 goals against average and .967 save percentage.
- Hamilton has five shutouts this season, including four against conference opponents.
- Smith and Kuhns led the offense with a goal and an assist apiece.
- Kuhns leads the team with 17 points on seven goals and 10 assists.
- Smith has a five-game point streak intact.
- Mosher, who had two helpers, has 23 career assists and 39 career points.
- Holden scored her 12th career goal.
- Mya Berretta '23 collected her 48th career point.
- Sami Quackenbush '24 has an assist in three of the last four games.
- Maddie Hong '23 won 9 of 14 faceoffs for the Continentals.
- Halloran made 14 of her 28 saves in the second period.
- Hamilton was 2-for-4 on the power play. The Continentals have killed 94.9 percent of their opponents' power plays.
Next Game
Hamilton makes the trip to Maine for another NESCAC contest on Friday, Feb. 3 when they play Bowdoin College. It will be the Continentals' first game outside of New York since Dec. 3. The first puck drops at 7 p.m.
