No. 5 women’s hockey defeats Bowdoin 4-1 for third straight win

Four Continentals scored in NESCAC win

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Hamilton College's Hyla Mosher '23 tallied a goal and an assist and the nationally ranked No. 5 Continentals posted a 4-1 NESCAC win against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears at Bowdoin's Sidney J. Watson Arena on Friday evening.

How It Happened
  • Hamilton scored its first goal 9:02 into the first period. Mya Berretta '23 navigated the puck through the neutral zone and sent a pass over to Mosher. Mosher dished it back to Berretta on a pass off the boards and Berretta danced around the defenders and flicked in a back-hand shot from right outside the crease.
  • Claire McGennis '24 extended the Continentals' lead with 10:58 left in the second period on a power play. Mosher tipped a pass over to Abby Kuhns '23 in the high slot and Kuhns fired it towards the crease. Nancy Loh '23 deflected the puck over to McGennis for a tap-in goal.
  • Bobbi Roca '24 gave Hamilton a three-goal cushion 3:45 into the final period. Roca won the faceoff after an icing call on Bowdoin. Loh controlled the puck after a battle along the boards and passed it back to Roca who sent a missile past Bowdoin's Sally Solotaroff-Webber.
  • Allie Britt scored Bowdoin's lone goal with 8:49 left after her initial shot hit the post.
  • The Polar Bears traded the goaltender for an extra skater and started a power play with 1:06 left but Evie Sheridan '26 turned down Bowdoin's one and only shot.
  • Mosher added an empty-net goal with 45 seconds remaining despite the fact the Continentals were down two skaters.
  • Hamilton outshot Bowdoin 21-16.
  • The Continentals were 1-for-2 on the power play while the Polar Bears were 0-for-2.
