NEW LONDON, Conn. – Hamilton College's
Ben Zimmerman '26 scored 3:45 into the third period and lifted the Continentals to a 4-3 NESCAC win against the Connecticut College Camels at Conn. College's Dayton Arena on Friday night.
Season Update
Hamilton moved over .500 overall at 7-6-0 and improved to 5-3 in the conference. The Camels (2-10-0, 0-7) remained winless in the NESCAC.
How It Happened
- Zimmerman broke a 3-3 tie with his goal on assists from Logan Greene '24 and James Philpott '25.
- Conn. College had a power play with 3:45 left in the third period. Jack Grant '24 made three saves for the Continentals as they successfully killed the penalty.
- The Camels pulled their goaltender for an extra skater with about a minute remaining. Grant made four more stops during the 6-on-5 and Hamilton held on for the victory.
- Fred Allaire '23 put the Continentals on top 1-0 at 11:34 of the first period just seconds after his shot was turned away by Sean Dynan.
- Conn. College scored all three of its goals in the second period. Rocco Testa-Basi pulled the Camels even at 2:51.
- Hamilton went back on top at 3:35 on a power-play goal by Nick Hawkins '23. Hawkins scored on a rebound after Dynan stopped a shot by Philpott.
- Conn. College tied the score again at 2-2 on a goal by John Russo at 6:19.
- Carson Hall '26 put the Continentals in front again with 9:59 to go on Hamilton's third power-play goal. Allaire won the faceoff to start the power-play chance and Hall scored six seconds later.
- The Camels tied the score a third time on a goal by Seth Stadheim with 4:02 left.
Notes
- Zimmerman finished with three points on the game-winning goal and two assists. He is in a five-way tie for the team lead with four goals.
- Philpott collected his first four assists this season as he figured in all of the Continentals' goals.
- Allaire leads the team with 11 points and has 14 career goals at Hamilton.
- Hawkins tallied his ninth goal as a Continental.
- Hall notched his second goal and sixth point this season.
- Grant finished with a career-high 34 saves for Hamilton.
- Dynan had 11 saves before he was replaced by Kellen Beauton early in the third period. Beauton added six stops in 15-plus minutes of action.
