Nieve Tonna '26 made four saves in the Continentals' 1-0 NESCAC win over the Williams College Ephs at Williams' Farley-Lamb Field on Tuesday afternoon.
How It Happened
- Erin Rayhill '25 found an opportunity from the center and drilled a shot that ricocheted off goalkeeper Leyla Kamshad's hands. Ledbury pursued the rebound and netted the match's lone goal from the left doorstep.
- Williams controlled possession early in the second half and produced two shots on goal within the first eight minutes.
- The Ephs held a 14-1 advantage in corner kicks.
- Williams outshot the Continentals 16-3, including 9-0 in the second half.
Notes
- The conference match was the season opener for both teams.
- Rayhill recorded her third career assist.
- The Continentals featured two first-years in the starting lineup (Ledbury and Tonna).
- Tonna tallied a shutout in her first start in goal.
- Hamilton defeated Williams for the second time in 15 all-time matches. The other victory was in the 2007 NCAA championship sectional semifinals -- also at Williams.
