Field hockey shut out by No. 3 Tufts, Griffin '26 makes eight saves

All three Continental losses are against teams ranked in the top five

Tufts University scored two goals in the fourth quarter and the Jumbos posted a 2-0 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Goodfriend Field on Saturday afternoon.
 
Season Update
The Continentals dropped to 3-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference. Undefeated Tufts moved to 7-0 and 5-0.
 
How It Happened
  • The Jumbos controlled possession for most of the day, but didn't break the ice until Meghan McDonald finally scored with 10:32 left in the fourth quarter.
  • Tufts clinched the victory with 7:46 remaining following a penalty corner. Andrea DelGiudice put one in the back of the cage on a pass from Reegan McCluskey.
 
Notes
  • Abby Griffin '26 made a season-high eight saves for Hamilton.
  • Hannah Dillon '24 was credited with the Continentals' lone shot early in the fourth quarter.
  • Sam Gibby posted the shutout for the Jumbos.
  • Tufts held a 14-1 shot advantage and was awarded 12 penalty corners to Hamilton's one.
  • The combined record of the three opponents Hamilton has lost to this season is 20-0.
  • The Jumbos are ranked third while the Continentals received votes in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll.
