No. 13 women's lacrosse falls at No. 9 Tufts in NESCAC action

Continentals host Williams in season's last conference game on Sunday, April 24

Tufts University's Caroline Walter scored six goals and Molly Laliberty made 18 saves in the Jumbos' 21-4 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Tufts' Bello Field on Saturday afternoon.
 
Nationally ranked No. 13 Hamilton (6-5, 4-5 NESCAC) scored the first goal and led for 1:37 early in the first quarter. The Continentals play their last conference game this spring on Sunday, April 24 when they host Williams College at 2 p.m.
 
The ninth-ranked Jumbos (11-3, 6-3) led 6-2 at the end of the first quarter, 11-3 at the half and 17-4 after three quarters. Tufts extended their win streak to four games.
 
Alana King '24 paced the Hamilton offense with two goals. Aine Cleary '25 scored her 11th and Alex Orlando '25 notched her second. Meghan Lane '24 recorded six draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sarah Moore '22 scooped up three ground balls, Olivia Chiota '24 caused two turnovers and Cleary and Olivia Seymour '22 won three draws apiece. Kaitlin Reed '24 started in goal and made six saves in the first half. Casey Fiore '24 stopped one shot in the second half.
 
King gave the Continentals a 1-0 lead 46 seconds into the first quarter. The advantage lasted less than two minutes as the Jumbos' Genna Gibbons tied the score. Walter's first goal with 12:03 left put Tufts ahead, and Sami Rothstein and Margie Carden scored for a 4-1 cushion. Carden finished with four goals and two assists.
 
Cleary pulled Hamilton within two goals with 4:16 remaining in the first, but the Jumbos scored the next five goals for a 9-2 advantage with 8:22 to go in the second quarter. The Continentals didn't get closer than six goals the rest of the way.
