Middlebury College's Hope Shue scored seven goals and the Panthers defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 16-7 in a NESCAC game played at Middlebury's Kohn Field on Sunday afternoon.

Hamilton (5-3, 3-3 NESCAC) lost for the second time in as many days. The nationally ranked No. 12 Continentals host nationally ranked Trinity College for another conference contest on Saturday, April 16 at noon. Hamilton will honor its six members of the Class of 2022 after the game.

The top-ranked Panthers (12-0, 7-0) remained undefeated. Middlebury led 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, 8-3 at the half and 13-4 after three quarters.

Eva Abel '22 paced the Continentals' offense with a career-high five goals.
Olivia Seymour '22 was credited with two assists and
Aine Cleary '25 and
Alana King '24 scored one goal apiece.
Olivia Chiota '24 scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers, and Abel and
Sarah Moore '22 forced two turnovers apiece.
Maeve Luparello '23 made four saves in the first half and
Kaitlin Reed '24 stopped four shots in the second half.

Jane Earley chipped in three goals and an assist for the Panthers. Lily Riseberg contributed a goal and two helpers, and Kelcey Dion scored twice. Madison Paylor recorded four ground balls and four caused turnovers, and Erica Barr won eight draw controls. Middlebury won 21 out of 27 draws. Gina Driscoll turned away three shots in 50-plus minutes.

Abel gave Hamilton a 1-0 lead just 12 seconds into the first quarter on a feed from Seymour. The Panthers tied the score 1:50 later and Shue put them in front to stay with 10:23 left. Abel pulled the Continentals within one goal at 3-2 with 4:51 remaining, but Middlebury scored the next five, and Hamilton didn't get closer than five goals the rest of the afternoon.

Abel leads the Continentals with 19 goals and Seymour tops the team with 12 assists and 28 points.
Meghan Lane '24 has a team-best 38 draws, 18 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.
