The Hamilton College Continentals completed a comeback victory against the Colby College Mules with a 59-55 NESCAC win at Colby's Margaret M. Crook Arena on Friday night.

Hamilton (9-10, 2-5 NESCAC) recorded a staggering 40 of its 59 points in the paint. The Continentals shot almost 50 percent from the field after the first quarter. Hamilton travels to Bowdoin College for another conference contest on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. The Polar Bears are receiving votes in the coaches poll and the D3hoops.com poll.

Claire Sehring '22 was all over the stat sheet for the Continentals with a career-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Kelcie Zarle '22 chipped in 14 points and dished out three assists.

Carter McGloon paced Colby (9-7, 1-6) with 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds before fouling out. Caroline Smith added 10 points, eight boards and three assists, and Chiamaka Ubani contributed 10 points and three steals.

Hamilton used a 13-2 run to take the lead for good in the fourth quarter as Sehring scored seven of those points. The Mules led 49-43 with 7:17 left but Sehring took over late, and her layup with 4:04 left put Hamilton in front 53-51. She added a conventional 3-point play with 3:16 remaining for a five-point advantage. Sehring scored half of her 22 points in the fourth quarter alone.

The Continentals, led by Sehring, stormed back in the second quarter after going down early. After going up 8-6 on a layup by Sehring with 6:03 left in the first quarter, the Continentals went cold from the field. The Mules took advantage and ended the quarter with an 11-0 run that pushed their lead to 17-8.

Hamilton got right back into the game in the second quarter, going on a 7-0 run to end the half. Zarle capped the spurt with a mid-range jumper with 34 seconds left that pulled the Continentals within 26-23.
Emily Hall '24 started strong in the third quarter, making two straight layups that gave the lead back to Hamilton at 27-26. Neither team led by more than six points in the second half.
