Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Jaelin Robin '22

Men's basketball tripped up at Conn. College, Anderson '23 scores 13

Continentals shot 13 percent in the second half and scored 12 points

The Hamilton College Continentals went cold in the second half and the Connecticut College Camels pulled away for a 62-43 NESCAC win at Conn. College's Luce Fieldhouse on Friday night.

Hamilton (12-11, 4-5 NESCAC) was paced by Eric Anderson '23 and his 13 points off the bench. Nick Osarenren '22 and Liam Regan '23 led the Continentals in rebounds with six apiece, and Conner Rood '23 led the team with three assists.

Hamilton ends its regular season with another conference game at Trinity College on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. A win would move the Continentals back to .500 in conference play and end their season on a high note heading into the NESCAC championship.

The Camels (9-10, 3-5) were led by Jarron Flynn, who scored 20 points and swiped four steals. Cam Schainfeld added 10 points and three assists.

It was a back-and-forth contest for much of the first half with seven lead changes. After a made 3-pointer by Anderson pushed the Hamilton lead to 17-9 at the midway point of the half, Conn. College eventually took the lead back at 23-22 on a layup by Andrew Hartel with 4:25 left. Anderson scored the last five points of the half on a 3-pointer and a last-second layup, and the Continentals went into the break with a 31-30 edge.

The Camels took advantage of Hamilton's cold streak, opening the second half with a 25-7 run that was capped by a Hartel layup with 8:08 remaining. It was a very uncharacteristic half for the Continentals, as they only shot 3 of 23 from the field, including 1 of 11 from 3-point range.
