Morgan ’25 paces men’s basketball to consolation win at Albright

Continentals blew things wide open with 28 unanswered points in the first

Hamilton College's Hank Morgan '25 poured in 22 points and the Continentals defeated the Albright College Lions 79-63 in the consolation game of Albright's DoubleTree Holiday Tournament at George C. Bollman Center on Friday afternoon. 
 
How It Happened
  • After five lead changes and one tie in the opening 4:30, Hamilton went on an incredible 28-0 run and led 33-9 with 8:51 left in the first half. 
  • Morgan gave the Continentals a 29-point lead at 41-12 on a 3-ball on a pass from Yashiya Crespin '26 with 5:14 remaining. 
  • Hamilton held a 46-25 advantage at the break. 
  • Patrick Mogan '23 hit a layup and Morgan nailed another 3-pointer for a 31-point lead – the Continentals' largest of the day -- at 62-31 with 15:28 left. 
  • The Lions used a 9-0 spurt that cut their deficit to 22 points with 11:22 remaining, but the Continentals led by at least 16 for the remainder of the game. 
  • Hamilton shot 40.3 percent (25-62) from the floor, including 45.8 percent (11-24) from beyond the arc, and 69.2 percent (18-26) at the line. 
  • The Continentals owned a 47-29 advantage on the glass. 
Notes
  • Hamilton improved to 8-4 overall after the Continentals split their two tournament games at Albright. 
  • Albright, which is a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth, dropped to 5-7. 
  • Morgan represented Hamilton on the all-tournament team.
  • Morgan was 7 of 11 from the floor including 4 of 7 from 3-point range and went a perfect 4-for-4 at the line. He's third in the NESCAC with 17.3 points per game and sixth in 3-point field goal percentage at 39.5 percent. 
  • Eric Anderson '23 chipped in 15 points and seven boards. 
  • Teja Singh '25 contributed 12 points, two steals and a pair of blocked shots. 
  • Conner Rood '23 tallied nine points off the bench 
  • Mogan added seven rebounds and a career-high seven assists. He handed out 13 assists during the tournament. 
  • Liam Regan '23 registered seven points, seven boards and two steals. 
  • Crespin collected a team-best three steals. 
  • Jeremiah Stanton paced Albright with 14 points 
  • Jordan Guerrero added 13 with eight boards, four steals and three blocks. 
  • Chris Kouemi netted 10 points for the Lions and Eric Chamberlain tallied nine.

  • Hamilton returns to action with a non-conference road contest at Ithaca College (4-4) on Monday, Jan. 2 at 4 p.m.
