Men’s basketball outlasted by Salisbury as Morgan ’25 scores 14

Continentals outscored 10-1 in the final three minutes of DoubleTree Holiday Tournament

Salisbury University's Kaiden Mines hit the game-winning shot from beyond the arc with 10 seconds left and the Sea Gulls posted a 69-66 win against the Hamilton College Continentals in Albright College's DoubleTree Holiday Tournament at the George C. Bollman Center on Thursday afternoon. 
 
How It Happened
  • The Sea Gulls opened the second half with a 15-4 run and eventually built a seven-point lead at 51-44 with 10:56 remaining. 
  • Conner Rood '23 answered with a 3-ball, a jumper and a pair of free throws and evened the score at 51 apiece with 9:37 to go. 
  • Hank Morgan '25 made a fast-break layup and swished a 3-pointer for a five-point Hamilton advantage at 57-52 with 7:08 left.
  • Salisbury cut its deficit to two points twice in the next four minutes, but the Continentals still led by six at 65-59 with 3:24 remaining. 
  • Salisbury's Greg Bloodsworth cut Hamilton's lead to four after a jumper. Jordan Oates tied the score at 65-65 after a free throw and then a shot from beyond the arc with 1:19 to go. 
  • The Sea Gulls took a 66-65 lead on a free throw by Brandon Craig with 39 ticks left.
  • Rood made the first of two shots at the line and tied the score again with 33 seconds remaining. 
  • After a timeout with 25 seconds to go, Salisbury took the lead on Mines' 3-pointer.
  • The Continentals called a timeout with just two seconds remaining and failed to connect on a last-second 3-point attempt. 
  • Hamilton scored the first five points, led the entire first half, and went into the break with a 34-24 advantage. 
  • The Continentals held a game-high 13-point advantage at 34-21 after a 3-pointer by Morgan with 1:34 left. 
  • Hamilton shot 43.1 percent (22-51) from the field, including 36.8 percent (7-19) from beyond the arc and 75 percent (15-20) at the line. 
  • Salisbury shot 40 percent (24-60) from the floor, including 35 percent (7-20) from the 3-point line and 63.6 percent (14-22) at the charity stripe. 
  • The second half featured five lead changes and four ties.
  • Salisbury held a 41-33 advantage on the glass. 
  • The Sea Gulls tallied 20 points on 18 Hamilton turnovers. 
Notes
  • Hamilton moved to 7-4 overall. 
  • Salisbury, which is a member of the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference, improved to 6-6 on the season.
  • Morgan tallied his 11th consecutive double-digit outing with 14 points. He's fourth in the NESCAC with 16.9 points per game. 
  • Rood was 3 of 6 from the floor and 5-for-7 at the line and finished with 12 points off the bench. 
  • Eric Anderson '23 contributed nine points while Liam Regan '23 and Garret Keyhani '26 chipped in eight apiece. 
  • Teja Singh '25 handed out six assists, and Patrick Mogan '23 added six assists, a team-best seven boards and three blocked shots. 
  • Bloodsworth paced Salisbury with 23 points and five assists.
  • Craig netted 10 points and Jordan Oates notched a game-high 16 rebounds. 
  • Mines was 3 of 7 from the 3-point line and finished with nine points. 
  • Buddah Spencer tallied four of the Sea Gulls' nine steals.

  • Hamilton will face Albright in the consolation game on Friday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m.
