Sheridan ’26 blanks Endicott, women’s hockey wins fourth straight

First-year goaltender posted her second shutout for the Continentals as they swept No. 15

Hamilton College's Mya Berretta '23 scored a pair of goals and Evie Sheridan '26 made 21 saves as the Continentals extended their win streak to four games with a 3-0 non-conference victory over the Endicott College Gulls inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Sunday afternoon. 
 
How It Happened
  • Hamilton struck with 1:29 remaining in the opening period. Berretta gained control of a loose puck behind the net, wrapped around and put the puck past Michaela O'Brien. 
  • Berretta provided an insurance goal 7:12 into the third period. Abby Kuhns '23 intercepted the puck in the Continentals' defensive zone and sent a pass up the ice. Berretta nailed a breakaway shot from right outside the left circle. 
  • Hamilton capitalized on an Endicott penalty and scored its third goal with 10:35 remaining in the third. Maddie Hong '23 won the faceoff and Kuhns took a shot from the top of the zone. Claire McGennis '24 deflected the rebound to Nancy Loh '23 who fired a shot on one knee from the left faceoff circle. 
  • Hamilton held a 22-21 edge in shots and was 1-for-4 on the power play. 
  • Endicott posted a 29-25 advantage in faceoffs and was 0-for-3 on the power play.

  • Hamilton (6-2-0 overall) received votes in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll. 
  • Endicott (7-5-1) is ranked 15th in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll. 
  • Berretta tallied her third and fourth goals of the season and has 22 for her career. She leads the team with eight points.
  • Loh registered her third goal of the season – all in the last two games -- and the 38th of her career. 
  • Kuhns dished out her third and fourth assists of the season. 
  • Hyla Mosher '23 and Bobbi Roca '24 both won 8 of 16 faceoffs. 
  • Sheridan notched her second shutout and owns a 1.57 goals against average and .933 save percentage. 
  • O'Brien made 19 saves including nine in the first period for the Gulls. 
  • The Continentals' penalty kill is 19-for-20 this season and hasn't allowed a power-play goal in the last seven games.
Next Game
  • The Continentals will have about three weeks off before returning to the ice for a non-conference matchup at Elmira College (9-4-0 overall) on New Year's Eve at 1 p.m.
