No. 13 women’s hockey falls to Oswego, Kuhns ’23 scores first goal

Berretta ’23 and Roca ’24 registered their third assists for the Continentals

SUNY Oswego's Kensie Malone netted the go-ahead goal in the third period and lifted the Lakers to a 2-1 non-conference win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Sunday afternoon. 
 
How it Happened
  • Hamilton struck first on a goal by Abby Kuhns '23 with two minutes left in the first period. Cuora Sullivan '26 fired a shot from the far-left side that was saved, and Mya Berretta '23 followed up with two attempts of her own. Kuhns pursued the rebound and put a hard shot past Oswego's Lexi Levy. 
  • Oswego's Rachel Corbett drew the Lakers even with 2:12 left in the second period on a rebound with assists from Ashlyn McGrath and Taylor Hudon.
  • Malone gave Oswego the lead on a goal with 6:13 remaining in the final period on passes from Mack Hull and Avery Webster. 
  • The Continentals pulled Evie Sheridan '26 in favor of an extra skater for most of the final two minutes, but only managed one shot on goal.
  • Hamilton held a slight 24-21 shot advantage. 
  • The Lakers tallied 16 blocked shots.

  • Hamilton (2-2-0 overall) is ranked 13th in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll.
  • Oswego (7-3-0) extended its win streak to seven games and received votes in the USCHO.com poll. 
  • Abby Kuhns '23 netted her first goal of the season and the seventh of her career. 
  • Roca and Berretta lead the team with three assists apiece.
  • Hyla Mosher '23 led Hamilton with 10 faceoff wins. 
  • Sheridan made 19 saves and has a 2.02 goals against average and .920 save percentage in three starts. 
  • Bobbi Roca '24 won 8 of 15 faceoffs. 
  • Levy collected 23 saves.
