Men’s basketball bested by No. 18 Trinity University in Texas

Morgan ’25 and Singh ’25 scored 18 points apiece for the Continentals

Trinity University shot 52.4 percent from the floor and the Tigers posted a 92-76 win against the Hamilton College Continentals in Southwestern University's Paul Peak Classic at the Corbin J. Robertson Center on Saturday evening. 
 
How It Happened
  • Hamilton started out with a 5-0 run before Jacob Harvey hit a 3-pointer for Trinity.
  • Teja Singh '25 and Hank Morgan '25 hit back-to-back 3-pointers and stretched Hamilton's advantage to eight points at 11-3. 
  • Trinity went on a 10-2 run and evened the score at 13-13. 
  • The Tigers scored 11 straight points and turned a 27-21 deficit into a 32-27 lead with 7:58 left in the first half. 
  • Trinity took its first lead on a layup by Kaleb Jenkins and Tanner Brown quickly extended the advantage to five points after a three-ball. 
  • Trinity held onto its lead and claimed a 46-40 edge at the break.
  • After a jump shot by Conner Rood '23, Hamilton cut its deficit to two points at 46-44. 
  • The Continentals didn't get any closer and the Tigers eventually led by as many as 17 points at 90-73 with 1:18 remaining. 
  • Hamilton shot 38.8 percent (26-67) from the floor and 73.7 percent (14-19) at the charity stripe. 
  • The Continentals grabbed 15 offensive rebounds and picked up 17 second-chance points.  
  • Trinity shot 47.8 percent (11-23) from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent (15-22) at the line. 
  • The Tigers poured in 40 points in the paint. 
  • Trinity held a slight 37-36 advantage on the glass. 
  • The Tigers tallied 21 points on 17 Hamilton turnovers.

  • Trinity (2-1) is ranked 18th in the D3hoops.com Top 25 preseason poll. 
  • Hamilton moved to 1-1.  
  • Singh was 4 of 8 from beyond the arc and finished with 18 points. He dished out four assists and tallied two steals. 
  • Morgan tied Singh for the team lead with 18 points.
  • Eric Anderson '23 was one rebound away from a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.
  • Owen Kane '25 registered a career-high 11 points and was a perfect 4 of 4 from the field. 
  • Ben Hanley paced Trinity with 18 points.
  • Jacob Harvey netted 17 points and went 5 of 7 from the 3-point line. 
  • Tanner Brown tallied 17 points and six rebounds.
  • Trinity's Kaleb Jenkins contributed 13 points. 
  • The Tigers' A.J. Clark added eight points and a team-best eight boards, five assists and four steals.
