Keyhani ’26 leads men’s basketball in season-opening win at home

First-year dropped in 22 and Morgan ’25 notched a career-high 21 points

Hamilton College's Garret Keyhani '26 registered a team-high 22 points and the Continentals breezed to a 107-59 non-conference win against the SUNY Old Westbury Panthers at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Sunday afternoon. 
 
How It Happened
  • Hamilton opened with a 14-1 run and led the entire game. 
  • Eric Anderson '23 gave the Continentals a 20-point lead at 32-12 after a 3-pointer midway through the first half. 
  • The Continentals led by as many as 29 points before the break. 
  • Hamilton stayed hot and started the second half with back-to-back 3-balls by Hank Morgan '25. 
  • Morgan picked up his first slam dunk of the season and followed it up with a jumper for a quick 10 points and a 66-31 advantage with 17:37 left. 
  • Keyhani hit two consecutive 3-pointers and the Continentals led by 45 at 99-54 with 5:05 remaining. 
  • The Continentals finished their offensive show on a Keyhani jumper and a layup by Brendan Gagan '24 that wrapped up the 48-point victory. 
  • Hamilton shot an impressive 56.5 percent from the floor (39-69), including 50 percent from beyond the arc (14-28), and 83.3 percent at the charity stripe (15-18). 
  • The Continentals collected 44 points in the paint and scored 22 points off 14 turnovers. 
  • Hamilton registered 54 bench points to Old Westbury's 15.
  • The Continentals dished out 28 assists.
  • Hamilton held a 50-27 advantage on the glass. 
  • Old Westbury was 31.1 percent from the floor (19-61) and shot 80 percent at the line (16-20).

  • Hamilton (1-0) picked up its fifth consecutive season-opening win. 
  • SUNY Old Westbury moved to 0-2 overall. 
  • Keyhani picked up six boards in addition to his 22 points off the bench in his collegiate debut. He shot 50 percent from the 3-point line (4-8). 
  • Morgan tallied a career-high 21 points and went a perfect 4 of 4 from beyond the arc.
  • Anderson chipped in 17 points and a team-best seven rebounds. 
  • Liam Regan '23 added 10 points and a pair of blocks. 
  • Teja Singh '25 handed out a career-high six assists.  
  • Zachary Cummings guided the Panthers with 17 points. 
  • Jonathan Jamieson and Jordan Johnson-Rader contributed 10 points apiece for Old Westbury.
