Rayhill ’25, Mosher ’23 score in women’s soccer 2-2 draw with Bates

Senior forward nets fourth goal this season on Senior Day

Hamilton College's Hyla Mosher '23 scored late in the second half and the Continentals and the Bates College Bobcats played to a 2-2 tie in NESCAC action at Hamilton's Love Field on Saturday. 
 
How It Happened
  • Erin Rayhill '25 put the Continentals on the board in the 32nd minute on a pass from Caroline Dawson '23. Dawson fired a beautiful cross into the left side of the box and Rayhill knocked a hard shot into the upper 90 with her left foot. 
  • The Bobcats responded in the 59th minute on a goal by Maeve Parmelee. Elizabeth Patrick worked the ball up the far side of the pitch and fed a pass to Parmelee who chipped it past Nieve Tonna '26 for the equalizer. 
  • Bates took a 2-1 lead at 68:24 on a goal by Courtney Gray after a connection with Patrick. The Bobcats made a run up the field and Patrick dished it onto the doorstep for Gray who settled it into the back of the net. 
  • Hamilton evened the score in the 75th minute on a follow-up goal by Mosher assisted by Emma Gaulin '23. After a corner kick, Rylie Mutton '23 lined a cross to the middle of the box where Gaulin headed a shot off the post. Mosher pursued the rebound and placed it in the lower right-hand corner.
  • The Continentals held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks. 
  • Hamilton registered 27 shots with 12 on net. 
  • Hamilton's 10 seniors were honored prior to the start of the match.  
Notes
  • Hamilton moved to 4-2-4 (1-2-4 NESCAC) on the season. 
  • Bates (3-5-2, 0-4-2) is winless in its last five matches. 
  • The last time a match between Hamilton and Bates ended in a tie was on Sept. 12, 2015. 
  • Rayhill notched her second goal of the 2022 season. 
  • Mosher added the fourth goal of her senior season. 
  • Dawson dished out her fourth assist of the season, while Gaulin earned her first. 
  • Dawson's 15 career assists puts her in a tie for fourth place on the team's all-time list.
  • Tonna collected three saves in goal. 
  • Bates' Parmelee netted her first goal of the season. 
  • Gray tallied her third goal of the year. 
  • Samantha Bunar tallied a season-high 10 saves for the Bobcats.

  • Hamilton will return to Love Field for another NESCAC matchup with Colby College (4-6-0, 0-6) on Sunday, Oct. 9 at noon.
