Women’s soccer eases past Colby 3-1 for second NESCAC win

Three Continentals scored in the first half

Hamilton College's Erin Rayhill '25, Ashlyn Gaulin '23 and Maddie Ledbury '26 scored as the Continentals posted a 3-1 NESCAC win over the Colby College Mules on Sunday afternoon at Hamilton's Love Field.

How It Happened
  • Hamilton struck first at 13:38 on a deflection. Rayhill took on two defenders and got off a shot at the top of the 18-yard box that grazed off a defender and rolled into the lower right-hand corner.
  • The Continentals struck again in the 25th minute. Caroline Dawson '23 took the corner kick and sent a rocket to the box where Gaulin headed it off the ground and into the net.
  • Ledbury added Hamilton's third goal at 33:11. The Continentals gained possession after a Mules throw-in and Ledbury fired a line-drive shot to the upper-left 90.
  • Colby scored their lone goal in the 71st minute following a corner kick. The Mules placed the kick into the box and Sophie Webb took a shot that was blocked. Jane Maguire found the rebound and settled it into the back of the net.
  • Both teams earned three corner kicks.
  • Hamilton outshot Colby 27-9 with 14 on net.
