Trinity College's Eva Lekovic led the Bantams with 19 kills in their nail-biting, five-set NESCAC win (18-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 18-16) against the Hamilton College Continentals at Trinity's Oosting Gymnasium on Friday night.
How It Happened
- Hamilton held an 11-4 lead before Trinity worked its way back to within three points at 13-10. The Continentals scored the next five out of six points and carried an 18-11 advantage. The Bantams didn't get closer than three points the rest of the set.
- The Continentals started set two with an 8-4 lead, but the Bantams rallied to tie it at 11-11. Hamilton built another four-point cushion at 19-15 before Trinity went on a 7-0 rally for a 22-19 edge. The Continentals closed within a point at 24-23 on three straight kills by Kate Carman '24, but it was too late as Lekovic nailed the final kill.
- Leading 10-6, Hamilton eventually pushed its lead to five points at 16-11 in the third set. The Bantams responded and closed the gap to just one point at 20-19. After Hamilton and Trinity traded three-point rallies, Melissa Morelli '24 put down a kill and claimed the third set for the Continentals.
- Hamilton scored the first five points and formed a 16-9 advantage in the fourth set. The Bantams rode an 11-1 surge and took a 20-17 lead. Trinity then scored five straight and forced a fifth set.
- The Bantams led 9-8 when Hamilton posted a five-point streak for a 13-9 edge. Trinity responded with a 5-0 rally and took back the lead at 14-13. The Continentals fought off three match points and forced the set's 12th tie at 16-16. The Bantams finally ended the match on a kill by Lola Craig and a Hamilton attack error.
- Hamilton held a 64-58 advantage in kills.
- The Continentals served 15 aces to Trinity's seven.

- Cece Nourie '25 led Hamilton with 25 digs, Morelli handed out a career-high 51 assists and Maggie Nichols '26 came up with five blocks.
- Lekovic added six blocks.
- Julia Torre led Trinity with 19 digs and Molly Bernstein had nine blocks.
- Caroline Howell dished out 28 assists and served three aces for the Bantams.
