Reidy ’26, Ehrenfreund ‘25 score in No. 9/12 men’s soccer win

Continentals held on for 2-1 victory at Conn. College in a clash of nationally ranked teams

Hamilton College's John Reidy '26 and Luke Ehrenfreund '25 netted goals and the unbeaten Continentals posted a 2-1 NESCAC win over the Connecticut College Camels on Saturday afternoon at Conn. College's Silfen Field. 
 
How It Happened
  • Reidy put the Continentals on the board in the 40th minute with a goal from the doorstep on a cross from Griffin Weidner '26. 
  • Ehrenfreund extended Hamilton's lead on a free kick just outside the 18 in the 81st minute. Ehrenfreund fired a hard shot that deflected off a defender and settled into the back-right corner for a 2-0 advantage.
  • The Camels got on the scoreboard with 6:05 left on a rebound goal by Augie Djerdjaj after an initial shot by Elliot Spatz. 
  • Conn. attempted the equalizer just over a minute later but keeper Ben Ziegler '24 was up to the task.  
  • Ziegler made four of his five saves in the last 15 minutes. 
  • The Camels outshot the Continentals 10-9 with seven on target. 
  • Conn. College held a 3-0 edge on corner kicks.

  • Hamilton (7-0-1, 4-0-1 NESCAC) is ranked 12th in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 poll and ninth in the D3soccer.com Top 25 poll.
  • Conn. College (3-2-2, 1-2-1) is ranked eighth in the D3soccer.com Top 25 poll. 
  • The last time Hamilton defeated Conn. College was Oct. 28, 2018, in the NESCAC championship quarterfinals. 
  • Reidy netted his first collegiate goal. 
  • Ehrenfreund added his second goal of the season and is sitting in second place on the team with seven points. 
  • Weidner tallied his first career assist. 
  • Ziegler posted five saves and has an .852 save percentage. 
  • Djerdjaj led the Camels with four shots and two on target. 
  • Peter Silvester added four saves for the Camels.

  • Hamilton will host local opponent Utica University on Tuesday, Oct. 4 for a non-conference matchup on Love Field at 4:30 p.m.
