Hamilton College lost to Rochester Institute of Technology in a dual meet -- the Continentals' first home event at Bristol Pool since the 2019-20 season – on Saturday afternoon.
RIT prevailed by a score of 192.5-101.5 and Hamilton's dual meet record dropped to 2-3. The Continentals return to the pool on Wednesday, Jan. 19 for another home meet with Union College at 6 p.m.
Hamilton honored its five seniors before the meet since the remaining two home events are scheduled to be held on a weekday. Those seniors are
Will Brindisi '22, Jonathan Lofgren '22, Michael Peebles '22, Jack Sullivan '22 and
Nick Wilkins '22.
The Continentals finished first in four events and
Jack Jee '24 was at least a part of three of them. Jee was on the 200-yard medley relay that tied for first place with a time of 1:36.74. He also captured the top spot in the 100 butterfly in 52.07 seconds and the 200 individual medley (1:58.75). He was runner-up in the 200 fly (1:58.17).
Jee was joined on the medley relay by
Daniel Cho '25, Emilio Vicioso '23 and Wilkins. Cho landed in second place in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.90 seconds and was third in the 200 back (2:04.96). Wilkins ended up in second place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.69 seconds and took third place in the 200 breast (2:13.19).
Luke Engel '25 accounted for the other event victory in the 500 freestyle (4:55.04). Engel was runner-up in the 200 free (1:48.38).
Sullivan finished third in the 50 free with a time of 22.85 seconds and the 100 free in 50.60 seconds.
Ethan Chiu '24 was third in the 1,000 free (10:37.99).
