Hamilton College's
Greg Zimmerman '22 scored the Continentals' only goal in their 3-1 NESCAC loss to the Connecticut College Camels on Sunday afternoon at Hamilton's Love Field.
The Continentals (2-4-1, 0-4-0 NESCAC) travel to Waterville, Maine, for another conference match against Colby College on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m.
Ben Ziegler '24 made five saves and
Kai Haesslein '24 made one in Haesslein's second relief appearance in goal this fall.
Connecticut College (4-2-0, 3-1) out-shot Hamilton 20-6 and had an 8-2 edge in corner kicks. The Camels struck first in the 24
th minute with a shot from the left side just outside the box that went high into the right corner. They scored again in the 38
th minute on a pass from the left side across the top of the box to the right side and a shot that was out of Ziegler's reach into the top-right corner. Conn. College scored its third goal in the 58
th minute off a corner kick that was headed into the net from the goal mouth.
Zimmerman scored with 6:39 left on a pass down the middle from
Simon Hoke '24. Zimmerman was wide open and took a few steps with the ball before tapping it into the bottom-left corner from just inside the box for his second career goal.
