Hamilton College's
Thomas Kantrowitz '25 scored his first collegiate goal in the Continentals' 2-1 NESCAC loss to the Colby College Mules on Saturday afternoon at Colby's Mark Serdjenian Field.
The Continentals (2-5-1, 0-5-0 NESCAC) out-shot the Mules 13-7 and had a 6-0 advantage on corner kicks.
Ben Ziegler '24 recorded two saves for Hamilton while Brendan McCarthy recorded seven for Colby (4-3-1, 2-1-1).
Kantrowitz's goal came in the 81
st minute off a corner kick by
Luke O'Dowd '25 that was played into the box and deflected back out. Kantrowitz stepped into the ball from straight on and delivered a rocket of a shot into the right half of the goal from just inside the top of the 18.
In the final eight minutes Hamilton recorded six shots with four on goal, but the Mules found a way to prevent the ball from settling in the back of their net a second time. Kantrowitz led Hamilton with three shots on goal,
Spencer Royal '22 had two and
Sam Dils '22, Sam Webber '23 and
Pandelis Margaronis '25 all had one.
Colby's Josh Rubin scored the Mules' first goal in the 42
nd minute and struck again in the 53
rd minute.
Hamilton will play nationally ranked No. 4 Tufts University on Sunday, Oct. 3 in Medford, Mass., at 3 p.m.
