Hamilton College's
Andrew Harrell '23 was runner-up in the men's 3,000-meter run and the Continentals finished 10
th in the 2021 Utica College Track & Field Holiday Classic at the Hutton Sports and Recreation Center on Saturday.
Hamilton, which had 29 points, was one of 12 teams that scored at least one point in the meet. SUNY Brockport captured the team title with 150 points and edged runner-up SUNY Cortland, which racked up 147 points.
Harrell posted a time of 8:46.74 and finished just 1.19 seconds behind the winner in the 3,000 meters. He was one of five Continentals who finished in the top eight of an individual event.
Peter Cuomo '24 was the top field performer as he took third place overall and was the second-best collegiate athlete in the triple jump with a mark of 13.00 meters.
Phillip Le '24 landed in fifth place in the 300-meter dash with a time of 39.09 seconds and
Rasikh Shaukat '25 was seventh in 39.30 seconds.
Jacob Shufro '24 ended up eighth overall and seventh among college athletes in the 600-meter run (1:32.01).
Josh Harmsen '23 finished ninth in the preliminary heats of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.20 seconds.
Zachary Booth '25 was 11
th in the mile run (4:38.72).
The foursome of
Saleh Eltayeb '24, Harmsen, Le and Cuomo finished in seventh place in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:37.40.
Hamilton returns to the Hutton Sports and Recreation Center for the Utica College Winter Opener on Saturday, Jan. 15.
