Hamilton College's
Caroline Dawson '23 scored the game-winning goal in the first sudden-victory overtime period and lifted the Continentals to a 1-0 win over the Mount Saint Mary College Knights in a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon at Mount Saint Mary's Kaplan Field.
The nationally ranked No. 11 Continentals (11-1-2 overall) out-shot the Knights 12-2, and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. Hamilton returns home to Love Field on Wednesday, Oct. 27 for a non-conference match against Utica College at 3 p.m.

Rylie Mutton '23 dribbled the ball down the right side, beat her defender and crossed it from outside the box into the middle. Dawson kicked it out of midair and to the left of goalkeeper Christina Kakavas (four saves) into the back of the net for her second goal this season and the seventh of her collegiate career. Mutton has three assists and a team-high 15 points.
Caity Smith '23 made one save in 71-plus minutes between the pipes and has a 0.82 goals against average and .864 save percentage.
Clare Robinson '25 relieved Smith in the 68th minute and made one save in 22-plus minutes. Smith re-entered for overtime.
Mutton had a shot on goal in the 22
nd minute from the top-right corner of the 18-yard box but Kakavas was able to catch it. In the 42

Leah Basel '24 sent a shot towards the bottom left portion and Kakavas made another save. With one minute left in the first half, Basel ran up on a loose ball and sent it soaring from 20 yards out but hit the crossbar.
Mutton had another shot on goal in the 66
th minute that was headed to the bottom center but Kakavas stopped it.
Rose McCullough '23 had two shots in the final five minutes of the second half; the first sailed high and to the right, and the second went towards the bottom left but was saved by Kakavas.
