The Hamilton College field hockey team (3-1) matched its best start since 2011 with a 5-0 win over visiting SUNY Oswego in a non-conference game on Tuesday evening in Clinton. Eva Rosencrans '17 scored a career-high three goals in the win.

The Continentals outshot the Lakers 39-4, including a 28-0 advantage in the first half. Rosencrans scored three of Hamilton's four first-period goals and assisted on the other, giving her a team-leading 13 points through four games this fall. Her seven points and three goals were the program's highest single-game totals since Colleen Callaghan '11 totaled four goals and 10 points in a 2010 win over Hartwick College.

Rosencrans converted a pair of penalty strokes 2:09 apart to provide Hamilton's first two goals. She sent a shot past a diving Sarita Charap '18 at the 13:22 mark and just over two minutes later lofted a high shot into the back of the cage.

Two more Hamilton goals in a span of 1:22 sealed the win. Rosencrans fed Casey Brown '16 in front of the net for a 3-0 lead and completed her hat trick with an unassisted goal in the 24th minute. Brown's goal was her first of the season.

The Continentals closed out the scoring just over a minute into the second period, turning one of their 18 penalty corners into a goal. Emma Anderson '17 sent the ball to Aubrey Coon '16, who stopped it for a shot by Caroline Ames '17. Ames' goal was her first at Hamilton and Coon picked up her second assist this season.

Charap finished with eight first-half saves. Grace Lombardi '16 played the second half and recorded two stops.

Hamilton's Victoria Trentini '15 needed to make just one save to record her third career shutout.

The Continentals return to NESCAC play on Saturday, Sept. 20, hosting Connecticut College at noon. The Lakers host SUNY Brockport on Saturday.
