Abby Kuhns joined the Hamilton College women's hockey staff as an assistant coach in November 2023 after a standout playing career with the Continentals from 2019 to 2023.
In 2023 Kuhns was selected a first team all-American in the East Region by the American Hockey Coaches Association and was voted the NESCAC Player of the Year. She was the second defender in NESCAC women's hockey history named player of the year. The two-time all-conference first team honoree (2022, 2023) finished her 76-game career with 48 points on 13 goals and 35 assists.
As a senior captain, Kuhns helped lead the Continentals to a single-season record for wins, a team-record eight-game winning streak, their highest finish in the NESCAC standings, their first conference championship final appearance, their first NCAA championship bid, and a trip to the national semifinals. Hamilton ended the 2022-23 season ranked fourth in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll with a 22-6-2 record.
Kuhns capped her career with a Jack B. Riffle Award, which goes to the top male and female athlete in Hamilton's senior class. She hails from Skaneateles, N.Y., and played prep school hockey at Skaneateles High School and Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut.
