Emily Seidel was named Hamilton College's assistant softball coach in January 2019. In her first season she helped guideĀ the Continentals to an overall record of 28-10 and nearly doubled the program record for wins in a season. Hamilton finished in second place in the NESCAC West Division with a 7-5 record and advanced to the postseason for the first time in team history. The division finish and seven victories are the best performances for the Continentals. Seidel helped coachĀ four all-conference selections and two all-region picks, and her athletes collected a pair of NESCACĀ pitcher of the week awards and one player of the week honor.

Hamilton set program records in a dozen categories in 2019 and the Continentals led the conference in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, triples,Ā fewest strikeouts, saves and most double plays turned. Hamilton playersĀ posted single-season records in runs, hits, runs batted in, saves and pitching victories. One athlete established a career mark for runs scored in 2019.

Seidel was previously an assistant coach at Los Angeles Mission College during the 2018 season. She worked primarily with the pitchers and helped the Eagles finish third in the Western State Conference.Ā Two pitchers were all-conference selections and two players, including a pitcher, transferred to four-year programs after the season.

Seidel began her coaching career in the summer of 2015 at Burbank High School in California. She directed the pitching staff and contributed to defensive and offensive instruction as well as team strength and conditioning. Burbank finished in fourth place twice in the Pacific League and made a playoff appearance with Seidel as an assistant. Eleven of her former players are went on to play collegiately.

Seidel started her collegiate playing career at the University of Nevada where she started at third base and boasted the Western Athletic Conference's longest hit streak in 2012 at seven games. She transferred to Mt. San Antonio College in 2013 and led the team to the first undefeated South Coast Conference regular season in conference history and a trip to the super-regionals in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). She pitched a perfect game, was named the conference and CCCAA pitcher of the year, and was voted a National Fastpitch Coaches Association first team all-American. She went on to play third base and pitch at Division I Abilene Christian University for two years, and was a two-time member of the Southland Conference all-academic team.

In 2020, Seidel became one of seven coaches across the country to earn the recognition of NFCA Endorsed Pitching Coach, and is pursuing the same endorsement in hitting.

Seidel was born and raised in Burbank, California, and played four years of varsity softball at Village Christian High School in Sun Valley. She has a bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian and is pursuing her master'sĀ degree in coaching and athletic administration at Concordia University Irvine.Ā Her parents are George and Susan Seidel and she has an older brother, Harrison.
