Cory Haggerty joined the Hamilton College baseball coaching staff in February 2017. In September 2017 he was named head coach of the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) for the 2018 season.

Haggerty was taken in the 18th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft by the Chicago White Sox after a successful playing career at SUNY Cortland. He played and coached in four NCAA Division III championships and eight NCAA regionals at Cortland. Haggerty was a preseason all-American and one of Baseball America's top five Division III prospects in 2003. He was a member of SUNYAC all-conference, Eastern College Athletic Conference all-star and all-region teams from 2001 to 2003. Haggerty graduated from Cortland in 2003.

Haggerty went to nearby Ilion High School where he made the all-state and Center State Conference all-conference teams in 1998 and 1999. He was selected for the Empire State Team in 1998 and 1999, and made the Utica Observer-Dispatch All-Mohawk Valley Baseball Team in 1999. He is currently a financial sales representative for Allstate.
