2020: Named to the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team.

2019: Appeared in all nine games as a sophomore... Went 6 for 6 in PATs and connected with a field goal in a 45-24 win over Colby on Sept. 28... Tallied a season-high 11 points and blasted a 40-yard field goal with four seconds remaining in the contest to lift the Continentals to a 31-28 win against Amherst on Oct. 19... Named the NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week on Oct. 20, and selected for the D3football.com Team of the Week on Oct. 22... Scored 10 points in a 36-21 win at Tufts on Oct. 26 by going 4 for 4 in PATs and hitting both of his field goal attempts... Finished the season 23-of-25 PATs (92%) and 10-of-10 in field goal attempts... Led the NESCAC in field goals made and field goal percentage... Had the longest field goal of the season in the NESCAC with a career-long 44 yarder... Received All-NESCAC First Team honors... Selected one of 10 finalists for the 2019 Fred Mitchell Outstanding Placekicker Award, presented annually to the nation's top placekicker from FCS, NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA and NJCAA for excellence on the football field and in the community.

2018: Played in all nine games as a first-year... Made a season-long 36-yard field goal and kicked a program-record eight extra points in a 62-27 win over Bowdoin on Oct. 13... Finished the season 24-of-26 PATs (92%) and 5-of-7 in field goal attempts (71%).

Personal: Undeclared major... Sam attended Worcester Academy... He is the son of David Thoreen and Julie Koshgarian, and he has an older brother, Henry.

Sam is also a member of the baseball team.
