CLINTON, N.Y. – The Williams College Ephs swept a NESCAC doubleheader against the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Loop Road Athletic Complex on Saturday, April 4.
Season Update
- Hamilton (5-16, 0-8 NESCAC), which played its first extra-innings contest of the season in game one, was coming off two tight games at first-place Middlebury College (20-2, 4-0 NESCAC) on Friday, April 3.
- Williams (12-8, 4-0 NESCAC) has won its last eight games.
Game 1 (Williams wins, 9-7 in 10 inn.)
- Hamilton struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first. Sofia Santana '26 drew a leadoff walk, and came around to score later in the inning following a single up the middle by Alexis Mayer '26. Miranda Mosqueda '28 crossed the plate on a throwing error to make it 2-0.
- Willliams loaded the bases in the top of the second but Hamilton limited the Ephs to one run.
- The Ephs tied the game at 2-2 in the sixth following an RBI triple by Dani Jackman.
- Mayer helped manufacture a run in the bottom of the sixth to put the Continentals back in front, 3-2. Mayer drew a walk with one out, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a sacrifice fly to center field by Nikki Dyche '28.
- Williams' Sidney Miller drove in two runs with a triple in the top of the seventh and the Ephs took their first lead of the game at 4-3.
- Hamilton put runners on second and third with two outs in the seventh, and Jess Chieco '29 scored on a passed ball to tie the game.
- Alysa DeQuiroz provided a two-run single in the top of the eighth and the Ephs tallied three runs in the frame for a 7-4 advantage.
- Hamilton then rallied to tie the game once again in the bottom of the eighth. The Continentals loaded the bases with singles by Dyche and Chieco sandwiched around a walk by Yael Everett '28. Lydia Mirabito '26 then drew an RBI walk to cut the deficit to 7-5, and Santana ripped a clutch single through the left side and drove in Chieco and Everett to make it 7-7.
- Both teams were held scoreless in the ninth. With the International Tie Breaker in effect to start the 10th, Williams scored two runs to pull back in front.
- Hamilton put the tying run on second in the bottom of the 10th, but Williams' Sadie Leonard got the final out to secure the complete game victory.
Notes
- Everett pitched a career-high 8.2 innings with five strikeouts and four earned runs allowed.
- Santana tallied a team-high two runs batted in with two hits, one walk and one run scored.
- Mayer went 2-for-4 with one walk, one run, one RBI and a career-high three stolen bases.
- Chieco scored a team-high two runs with one hit and one walk.
- Leonard registered 14 strikeouts for the Ephs with six earned runs allowed in 10 innings.
- Sidney Miller provided a game-high three runs batted in for Williams, while Miya Fujimoto scored two runs with three walks.
Game 2 (Williams wins, 9-0 in 6 inn.)
- Williams built an early lead with five runs in the top of the first. Haley Barret drove in two runs during the frame with a single through the left side.
- Hamilton's Aubrey Purvis '27 settled in and allowed just one baserunner over the next four innings.
- Williams tacked on four runs in the top of the sixth with the help of a bases-clearing double by Katie Blanch.
Notes
- Santana and Dyche both recorded a hit for the Continentals.
- Blanch tossed all six innings for Williams, limiting Hamilton to two hits, zero walks and zero runs with three strikeouts.
- Blanch recorded three runs batted in, while Miller provided two hits, one run and two runs batted in.
- Aleks Albert added two hits, two runs and one RBI for the Ephs.

Hamilton will return to action with a doubleheader at SUNY Oneonta on Wednesday, April 8. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
