Quote
"I thought we showed a tremendous amount of mental toughness out there today in some really difficult wind conditions," Head Coach
Billy Boykin said. "We faced wind gusts of 25 to 30 miles per hour throughout the match, but our team hung in there, stayed positive, and ran extremely well. Bates is a quality side and they are well-coached. They made us work hard for everything.
"Winning the doubles point gave us a big lift. We used that momentum to help us capture five of the six first sets contested. That put some scoreboard pressure on Bates and allowed us to separate a little, play a bit looser. This was a tough road match against a quality opponent in tricky conditions. I am proud of this group and I enjoy watching this team compete. We are still learning, still growing."
