HARTFORD, Conn. – Hamilton College picked up a team point by winning two out of three doubles matches and that turned out to be the difference in the Continentals' 4-3 NESCAC win against the Trinity College Bantams at Trinity's Paul Assaiante Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon, March 29.
Season Update
- Hamilton (6-4, 1-3 NESCAC) won for the fifth time in its last six matches.
- Trinity (3-7, 0-3) dropped its third straight match.
How It Happened
- Anson Anderson '26 and Tarun Korwar '27 clinched the team doubles point by winning their No. 2 doubles match in a tiebreaker.
- All three singles wins by the Continentals were in straight sets.
- Korwar didn't lose a game in the first set of his No. 1 singles match.
- Lleyton Mendieta '28 cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 triumph in his No. 2 singles match.
Notes
- Korwar is 8-2 in singles in dual matches this spring with all those wins coming at No. 1. He and Anderson improved their record to 7-3 as a doubles team during the spring.
- Alexei Katelevsky '29 celebrated his first singles win this spring as he prevailed at No. 5. Katelevsky is 5-3 in doubles play with his victory at No. 3.
- Mendieta evened his singles record at 5-5. All of his matches this spring have been played at No. 2.
- Filip Moller '29, who was Katelevsky's doubles partner against Trinity, is 4-3 in doubles play this spring.
- Katelevsky and Moller have won four straight matches as a doubles team. They are 4-1 at the No. 3 spot.
- Hamilton has won the last three meetings with the Bantams in Hartford.
