SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Skidmore College players won four singles matches and the Thoroughbreds edged the Hamilton College Continentals 4-3 in non-conference action inside Skidmore's McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center on Sunday afternoon, March 1.
Season Update
- Nationally ranked No. 28 Hamilton (1-1 overall) won 5-2 at University of Rochester on Feb. 28.
- The Thoroughbreds (2-2) had lost both of its matches against ranked opponents prior to Sunday.
How It Happened
- The Continentals got off to a good start with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, which earned them the team doubles point.
- Hamilton held a 3-1 lead after the first three singles matches, but Skidmore took the last three and rallied for the victory.
Notes
- Tarun Korwar '27 and Lleyton Mendieta '28 won their singles and doubles matches for the Continentals. Korwar and Anson Anderson '26 teamed up at No. 2 doubles, and Korwar prevailed in straight sets at No. 1 singles.
- Korwar is a team-best 14-6 in singles this season and 52-18 for his Hamilton career.
- Anderson and Korwar are 8-4 in doubles in 2025-26. Anderson has 56 career doubles victories.
- Mendieta improved his record to 8-5 after his triumph at No. 2 singles.
- Mendieta and Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 prevailed once again at No. 1 doubles. They are a team-best 12-5 this season and an impressive 31-14 as a doubles team in their career with the Continentals.
