CANTON, Mass. – Curry College's Killian Rowlee scored two goals and Cam Smith made 35 saves in the Colonels' 4-2 non-conference win against the Hamilton College Continentals inside Canton Ice House on Saturday evening, Jan. 3.
Season Update
- Nationally ranked No. 5 Hamilton (8-1-2 overall) lost for the first time since the 2025 NCAA Division III championship quarterfinals against Curry in the same building.
- The eighth-ranked Colonels (7-4-0), which has a 4-2 record in the Conference of New England, rebounded from a 3-2 overtime loss against Skidmore College on Jan. 2.
How It Happened
- Curry notched the first three goals and kept the Continentals off the scoreboard until midway through the third period.
- Gage Dill broke the ice on his eighth goal of the season with a little less than eight minutes left in the first period. The Colonels held a 13-6 shot advantage in the first 20 minutes.
- Rowlee made it a two-goal cushion a little more than four minutes into the second period. Curry killed two penalties during the second. Rowlee gave the Colonels a 3-0 lead less than a minute into the third period.
- Hamilton got the break it was looking for midway through the third when the Continentals drew two penalties on Curry in a span of 31 seconds. Hamilton peppered Smith with five shots on goal during its 5-on-3 power play but couldn't find the back of the net.
- The Continentals kept the pressure on and scored with 14 seconds left in the 5-on-4 with 11:02 remaining. Smith stopped a shot from the point by Connor Thue '29 and Alex Danis '26 tipped the puck over to Noah Leibl '27. Leibl finally put the puck past Smith on a shot from the bottom of the left faceoff circle.
- Manny Cabral restored the three-goal advantage with a little more than three minutes to go on his fifth tally this season.
- Brendan Waivada '27 accounted for the final score with 54.0 seconds left. Jacob Ierfino '27 skated around the back of the goal from left to right and slipped a pass through the crease to Waivada, who stuffed the puck in from near the left post. Hamilton put 19 shots on goal during the final period.

- Leibl scored his second goal this season and the first power-play goal of his career with the Continentals.
- Waivada potted his second goal and won 7-of-11 faceoffs.
- Thue, who is a defender, registered his third point of the weekend.
- Danis recorded his first assist of 2025-26.
- Vincent Gould '27 extended his point streak to three games with an assist on the second goal.
- Hamilton won 51 faceoffs and lost just 25 with center Jackson Krock '26 (22-of-30) leading the way. Krock is second in the NESCAC in face-off winning percentage at 59.3 percent on 263 faceoffs.
- Aksel Reid '27 turned away 28 shots.
- The Continentals went 1-for-4 on the power play and killed the Colonels' lone chance.

Hamilton begins a four-game homestand on Friday, Jan. 9 when it returns to NESCAC action against Bowdoin College (8-2-1, 4-0-1). Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
