CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Jade Matthias '26 won two individual events and the Continentals split their tri-meet against the Middlebury College Panthers and the Williams College Ephs inside Hamilton's Bristol Pool on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 24.
Hamilton recorded a 214-80 victory over the 22nd-ranked Panthers and a 173-126 setback against the eighth-ranked Ephs.
Matthias finished first in the 50-yard freestyle and 50 butterfly, while
Paige Wielgus '28 took first in the 50 backstroke and placed second in the 100 back.
Hamilton took the top three spots in the 50 back with
Mila Smarrito '29 and
Carolyn Miner '27 finishing second and third, respectively, behind Wielgus.
The Continentals, who received votes in the latest College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Division III Top 25 poll, celebrated Senior Day.
Hamilton returns to action at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m.
