Field hockey up to 14th in latest Division III top 25 coaches poll

Continentals host William Smith and No. 13 Bowdoin this week

The Hamilton College Continentals leaped up four more spots to 14th in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll that was released on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
 
Hamilton (4-2 overall) shut out St. Lawrence University 4-0 on Sept. 17 and dropped a 2-0 decision at then-No. 7 Tufts University on Sept. 20. The Continentals weren't in the preseason poll but have steadily climbed up the rankings in the first three polls of the regular season.
 
Hamilton hosts William Smith College in non-conference action at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Nationally ranked No. 13 Bowdoin College visits the Continentals for a New England Small College Athletic Conference contest on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m.
 
Lilly Truchon '26 leads the Hamilton offense with three goals and six points. Sammy Higgins '26 has picked up four of the team's seven assists. Abby Griffin '26 has started every game in goal and has a 0.33 goals against average and .909 save percentage in 180 minutes. Kelly Janssen '28 (1.12 goals against avg., .765 save pct.) has played nearly 215 minutes in the cage.
