CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College hit .375 as a team and the Continentals overwhelmed the Clark University Cougars in three sets (25-13, 25-13, 25-17) in a non-conference match played inside Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Friday evening, Sept. 12.
 
Season Update
	- The Continentals (2-2 overall) have won both of their Friday matches this season.
 
	- Clark (0-3) hasn't won a set in its first three matches.
 
 
How It Happened
	- In the first set Hamilton scored the first four points and led the whole way. At one point the Continentals ran off nine in a row and were up 17-3. An Ayzlinn Trefren '28 kill and block assists by Trefren and Maggie Nichols '26 closed out the set.
 
	- Hamilton trailed 3-2 in the second set, but the Continentals posted the next four points and led the rest of the way. A six-point run gave Hamilton a 17-8 advantage. Two kills by Nichols and a Clark attack error ended the set.
 
	- The Continentals broke open the third set with seven straight points for an 11-3 lead. Six consecutive points gave Hamilton a 22-12 cushion and essentially ended the match. Elodie McGeiver '27 put down a kill on match point.
 
 
Notes
	- The Continentals finished with 36 kills and just nine attack errors in 72 attempts.
 
	- The Cougars had more attack errors (20) than kills (19).
 
	- Nichols tied career highs with seven kills and five blocks.
 
	- Trefren and Zua Vang '29 registered seven digs and two aces apiece.
 
	- Lucy Proud '29 contributed a team-high 13 assists and added seven digs.
 
	- Grace Jansen '29 passed out 11 assists.

Hamilton hosts St. John Fisher University (7-1) at noon and SUNY Morrisville (5-3) at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13.
