POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Vassar College captured four singles matches and the Brewers edged the Hamilton College Continentals 4-3 in non-conference action inside Vassar's Walker Field House on Sunday, April 27.
Season Update
- Nationally ranked No. 54 Hamilton (7-10 overall) lost for the fifth time in its last six matches.
- The 31st-ranked Brewers (11-5) have won eight of their last nine matches.
How It Happened
- The Continentals collected the team doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3.
- Hannah Apsey '25 outlasted Vassar's Erin McCusker in three sets at No. 1 singles.
- Grace Qian '27 dropped just three games in her victory at No. 5 singles.
- The Brewers' Iris Li prevailed in three sets in the pivotal No. 2 singles match.
Notes
- Apsey picked up her team-leading 12th singles win and the 41st of her Hamilton career.
- Qian improved to 5-1 in dual matches and 8-4 overall in singles play this season.
- Apsey and Stephanie Pratt '25 are 15-9 this season and 30-18 in their career as a team after a win in No. 1 doubles. Apsey owns a 54-32 career doubles record and Pratt won her 43rd match with the Continentals.
- Qian and Ally Turtledove '25 moved to 3-1 as a pairing with their triumph in No. 3 doubles. Qian won her 13th career doubles match and Turtledove registered her 14th.
