Women's tennis downed by Middlebury in NESCAC championship quarters

Continentals were playing in the postseason for the third straight year

MANCHESTER, Conn. – Middlebury College was perfect in five matches and the Panthers defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 4-0 in a 2025 NESCAC Women's Tennis Championship quarterfinal inside Magic Lincer Tennis Club on Friday morning, May 2.
 

Season Update

  • Nationally ranked No. 50 Hamilton (7-11 overall) was the eighth seed for the championship.
  • No. 4 Middlebury (15-2), which was the top seed for the event, won its 10th straight match.
 

How It Happened

  • The Panthers captured the team doubles point by winning at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles.
  • The Continentals' Hannah Apsey '25 extended Sahana Raman to a third set in No. 1 singles.
 

Notes

  • The match was played to decision. Once one team reaches four points, the match is over.
  • Hamilton was making its third straight championship appearance.
